Hydrobathing a brief history…
Did you know the simple Hydrobath was indeed invented by the Australian greyhound industry. The earliest model possibly goes back as far as 1974 when a bunch of greyhound enthusiasts required a system to massage their racing dogs after a training session using hot water and pressure to relieve pain and inflammation.
Pretty soon products where added to the heated water and not long after the Hydrobath was born.
How we ended up wit the name Hydrobath is anyone’s guess – common sense sees two separate words Hydro meaning water and bath been just that a water bath? Go figure!
However like many entrepreneurial Australians out there improvements where soon to be made and from early metal enclosures housing washing machine pumps came the advent of the fiberglass bath with hidden water chamber and pool pump.
It wasn’t long (early 80’s) before the first baths hit the road and started washing dogs in a door to door fashion – the problem though wasn’t the concept however the fact that the earlier baths did not rinse or indeed have their water changed for anything up to half a day.
Imagine washing dogs continuously in the same water for over half a day. Not long before improvements where made and better systems and processes where introduced.
Aussie metal cabinets were the earliest forms of containment and it was not long before we ended up seeing fibreglass solutions – afterall Australia is renowned for fibreglass boats and it did not take long for the moulds to start appearing and the baths been massed produced.
Hydrobaths Australia is proud to complete the circle of manufacturing know-how and industry experience. These two simplistic ideals allow for our team to come up with the best possible solution suited to your individual needs. Ask us how we can put our history and experience to work for you.
